About Us

michele Meiler

Michal Meiler is the Founder of Meiler Law, P.A., a boutique litigation firm focused on insurance coverage, bad faith litigation, and high-stakes trial advocacy. She represents policyholders, businesses, and injured victims in complex disputes against insurers who wrongfully deny, delay, or underpay claims.

Ms. Meiler is a seasoned trial lawyer with extensive courtroom experience. Prior to founding Meiler Law, she was a Shareholder at Ver Ploeg & Marino, P.A., where she litigated hundreds of high-stakes insurance coverage and bad faith matters. Earlier in her career, she served as an Assistant Public Defender in Miami-Dade County, where she conducted more than sixty-five jury trials, including homicide cases. That trial foundation informs her strategic, results-driven approach in every case she handles.

Her practice is grounded in a clear principle: insurance policies are binding promises—and when insurers fail to honor them, she holds them accountable.

Ms. Meiler is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts; the United States District Courts for the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Florida; the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit; and the United States Supreme Court.

She is deeply involved in leadership at both the state and national levels. Ms. Meiler serves on the Board of Directors of the Florida Justice Association, and as a PAC Trustee, and former Chair of the Women’s Caucus. She is also active with the American Association for Justice, where she serves as a Florida State Delegate, Past-Chair of the Insurance Law Section, Vice Chair of the Bad Faith Litigation Group, and member of the Voters Protection Committee. Within The Florida Bar, she serves on the Federal Practice Committee. Ms. Meiler is also the Founder and President of the Jewish Lawyers Association of Miami-Dade County, an organization she established to build community and provide a platform for legal education and advocacy. Her additional professional involvement includes active membership and prior leadership roles within the Miami-Dade Bar Association, Miami-Dade Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, and the Miami-Dade Trial Lawyers Association.

Her work has earned her numerous honors, including recognition as a “Circle of Excellence” Awardee in the Area of Insurance Law by the Miami-Dade Bar Association (2024), “One to Watch” by Best Lawyers in America, “Top Up and Comer Under 40” by the South Florida Legal Guide (2020), “On the Rise Honoree” by the Daily Business Review (2020), and Florida Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers. She was also named one of the “40 Under 40 Outstanding Lawyers in South Florida” by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (2018).

Ms. Meiler is a frequent lecturer on insurance coverage, bad faith litigation, and trial strategy. She has presented for The Florida Bar, the Florida Justice Association, the American Association for Justice, the Miami-Dade Trial Lawyers Association, the Broward County Trial Lawyers Association, the National Crime Victims Bar Association, and the National Business Institute. She has been featured on legal podcasts including Summarily – A Podcast for Busy Lawyers and Legally Exhausted. She has also co-authored articles published in AAJ’s Trial Magazine and amicus briefs submitted to both the Florida Supreme Court and the United States Supreme Court.
Ms. Meiler earned her Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from George Washington University and her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center. While at Georgetown, she served as an Articles Selection Editor for the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal, participated in the Criminal Justice Clinic, and received both the Michael Feldman Advocacy Award and the Greenfield Trial Practice Award. She also interned for the Honorable John M. Facciola of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.

Meiler Law, P.A. is built on a simple promise: when insurers break theirs, we don’t back down—we hold them accountable.
